Critical curves in conformally invariant statistical systems

چکیده
We consider critical curves — conformally invariant curves that appear at critical points of two-dimensional statistical mechanical systems. We show how to describe these curves in terms of the Coulomb gas formalism of conformal field theory (CFT). We also provide links between this description and the stochastic (Schramm-) Loewner evolution (SLE). The connection appears in the long-time limit of stochas-tic evolution of various SLE observables related to CFT primary fields. We show how the multifractal spectrum of harmonic measure and other fractal characteristics of critical curves can be obtained.

Introduction to Schramm-Loewner evolution and its application to critical systems
In this short review we look at recent advances in Schramm-Loewner Evolution (SLE) theory and its application to critical phenomena. The application of SLE goes beyond critical systems to other time dependent, scale invariant phenomena such as turbulence, sand-piles and watersheds. Through the use of SLE, the evolution of conformally invariant paths on the complex plane can be followed; hence a...
متن کاملStochastic geometry of critical curves, Schramm-Loewner evolutions, and conformal field theory
Conformally-invariant curves that appear at critical points in twodimensional statistical mechanics systems, and their fractal geometry have received a lot of attention in recent years. On the one hand, Schramm [1] has invented a new rigorous as well as practical calculational approach to critical curves, based on a beautiful unification of conformal maps and stochastic processes, and by now kn...
متن کاملConformally invariant scaling limits in planar critical percolation
This is an introductory account of the emergence of conformal invariance in the scaling limit of planar critical percolation. We give an exposition of Smirnov’s theorem (2001) on the conformal invariance of crossing probabilities in site percolation on the triangular lattice. We also give an introductory account of Schramm-Loewner evolutions (SLEκ), a one-parameter family of conformally invaria...
متن کاملConformal invariance of isoheight lines in a two-dimensional Kardar-Parisi-Zhang surface.
The statistics of isoheight lines in the (2+1) -dimensional Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) model is shown to be conformally invariant and equivalent to those of self-avoiding random walks. This leads to a rich variety of exact analytical results for the KPZ dynamics. We present direct evidence that the isoheight lines can be described by the family of conformally invariant curves called Schramm-Loew...
متن کاملConformal Invariance of Graphene Sheets
Suspended graphene sheets exhibit correlated random deformations that can be studied under the framework of rough surfaces with a Hurst (roughness) exponent 0.72 ± 0.01. Here, we show that, independent of the temperature, the iso-height lines at the percolation threshold have a well-defined fractal dimension and are conformally invariant, sharing the same statistical properties as Schramm-Loewn...
